Releases α(2-3,6)-linked sialic acid from oligosaccharides, glycoproteins, complex carbohydrates.
Recombinant from Clostridium perfringens, expressed in E. coli. Formerly known as product code GE24.
This enzyme releases α2-3, and α2-6 linked N-acetylneuraminic acid from complex carbohydrates. This enzyme will not efficiently cleave NeuAc α2-6 linked to N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) when the GalNAc is labeled with a fluorophore. For this application Sialidase A (GK80040) is recommended.
